Arriving into Malaysia via aircraft

If you arrive at night or somewhere around 2-3 am,I'd definitely recommend you to travel during the day.

Note:You'll arrive in KLIA if you are from everywhere else, and will arrive in LCCT if you take Air Asia, budget airline.

Coming down to Malaysia via Air Asia is now quite cheap. I went to London on it, and the journey was ok -plus i was 5 months preggy! From Europe, you can only fly via Stansted in the UK.If you are coming down via Air Asia, and arriving at night (plus you are on budget!) just stay at the Tune hotel nearby and make a move the next day via bus to KL.You don't want to be lost in a foreign land in the mid of the night! Its a 7 minute walk from LCCT.

If you arrive in KLIA, there is no budget hotel nearby. If you want comfort, opt for Concorde Inn and above (about 40euro). Others are typical asian room style.

Hotels near LCCT
Hotel Contact Distance to LCCT Room Rate Suite Rate
Pan Pacific Hotel 603-87873333 20km From RM840 From RM1,600
Concorde Inn 603-87833118 15km From RM220 From RM380

Empress Hotel 603-87067777 15km From RM305 From RM515
Tune Hotel 603-7962 5888 7 mins walk Call to inquire
New Wave +6014-2342232 18km From RM60

*Taxis/cabs cost more after midnight. They charge for luggages as well.

The next day, you would want to take the www.skybus.com.my that would take you to KL Central. It only cost you RM9 for one way (which is less than 2euros).Look out for the schedule if you still want to travel to town upon arrival.

If from KLIA, take the express coach. RM10 for one way.It also will take you to KL Central. Trips from KLIA or LCCT (budget airport) will take approximately 1 hour. You can also take the express train, www.kliaekspres.com. RM35 adult on way and RM15 for children one way.

KL Central is a transit hub. From KL Central it would be easier for you to go anywhere else via bus, trains etc.Good luck!

When to wear when visiting religious places in Asia

Travelling to asian countries is heaven. We have warm weather all the time, although mostly humid, which doesn't require those in the west to travel with loads of clothing.

But when should you wear what is the questions. Many asian countries still holds their cultural value close to the heart. Of course we follow western styles as well but when you are not in the city or the beach, you might want to consider what you are wearing.

Appropriate clothing when visiting religious places:

  • Men-long pants, t-shirt or shirt with no obscene pictures/wordings
  • Women, long pants, long sleeve and scarf/shawl.

You may require to take your shoes/sandals off.Bring a plastic bag if you want to be safe that your sandals won't be stolen. There are places that provides you cover for your shoes if you decide to wear them and not take them off.
